Get Advice About Your Spending Based On Your Current Location, Cash Flow Analysis & Budgeting
Washington, DC. – November 22, 2011 — Online financial guidance startup HelloWallet announced the release of its companion iPhone app for its popular Web application. HelloWallet for iPhone is the first app of its kind to provide location-based spending guidance. Once the app determines the user’s location, it will display how much is left to spend in the associated budget category and how much has been spent historically at that location. For example, if a user was standing in the Tabard Inn Restaurant in Washington, DC, HelloWallet’s iPhone application will tell the user how much they have left to spend in their restaurant budget and how much they have spent over the past month and year at that specific restaurant.
In addition to location-based spending guidance, the application offers a number of other unique and helpful features. Right after opening the app, a user will get a quick snapshot of their current situation including: cash balance, bills left to pay, and how much they have leftover to spend. Users can also pull up their HelloWallet daily-personalized advice and access all their favorite features from the HelloWallet Web application like tracking accounts, transactions, and progress against their budget.
“People make the majority of their financial transactions on the go. With HelloWallet for iPhone, you’ll be able to get personalized financial guidance wherever you are,” said HelloWallet Founder & CEO Matt Fellowes. “We’re excited to tap into someone’s location via the mobile phone to make our advice & recommendations that much more relevant.”
HelloWallet for iPhone is available in the iTunes App Store today. The iPhone app requires a HelloWallet membership. An Android version of the application is currently in development and slated to be available early next year.
HelloWallet works with large corporations to make their online financial guidance application available to their employees as an employer-sponsored benefit. As of October, the company has sold over 300,000 memberships for its Web application to Fortune 500 employer partners.
