We’re excited to announce another round of product changes designed to make HelloWallet even more useful.
A streamlined Daily Personal Guidance section lets you clearly see the most important information. Dismiss the messages you’ve completed by marking them as “read”, and “favorite” the ones you find particularly useful.
We’re thrilled to introduce a much simpler category list based on feedback: 28 instead of 90! Many people found the previous list cumbersome and long, so we reduced it drastically to feature only the most useful concepts. A new category picker helps you quickly find the category you are looking for, or you can now easily search for the one you want.
We’ve worked hard to make this change with no disruption to you. We mapped our existing categories to the new ones in a way that should be intuitive. And we will preserve your budget as is by automatically creating custom categories for any of your budget categories that are not in the new list. You should notice almost no change to your budget.
The new, simplified category list is below. We welcome any comments or feedback.
P.S. To ensure that we don’t double count your credit card spending — once when you make a transaction and again when you pay the bill — we only count the original spending transactions. We treat the credit card payment as a transfer. We included a “credit card payments” category on the list so you know exactly where to put those.
