The Sunset of Microsoft Money

Microsoft Money was a popular Windows based personal finance program that was discontinued in 2009. It allowed users to integrate their financial information into a comprehensive summary that let them keep track of their spending, manage their investments, and pay bills online. These became standard features across all personal finance programs, but lately Microsoft Money no longer supports web-based applications like account updates or stock quotes.
Microsoft released a final (free) version called Money Plus “Sunset” 2008. They are phasing out online features, so Microsoft Money 2008 doesn’t have as many features of earlier versions. You have to manually enter account information since the automatic update functions are disabled. Support for Money will be disabled on January 31st, 2011.
