What We Do
We Make Banks Work for You
Did you know that almost every “free” online personal finance service is sponsored by a bank? They may say they’re free, but they can actually cost hundreds, even thousands, of dollars to use because the products they recommend are often limited to those offered by their bank sponsors, which may not be the best ones for you. We’ve found much better products for our members because we are completely independent from banks–we do not accept advertising or referral fees. We don’t try to sell you something you don’t need–we’re not selling anything. We are dedicated to remaining independent, so that we can find you better products and help you get ahead.
Support a Cause: Independence
Member support keeps us independent from banks and enables us to search tens of thousands of bank products for our members and provide 100 percent unbiased recommendations. Join HelloWallet and you’ll become part of a vibrant community of people joining together to make banks work for them, instead of the other way around.
Do Well and Do Good
For every five paying members, we give away one free HelloWallet membership to a family in need. We work with national and local nonprofit organizations to find these families and provide our members with detailed reports about how their contributions have helped needy families around the country.
Ethical, Independent Guidance
We work with charitable foundations around the country and were honored by the Clinton Global Initiative for starting HelloWallet to make honest, transparent financial guidance available to more people. Most free information is biased and low quality. We ask for just $4 a month from our members. This allows us to remain independent from banks, and to look at tens of thousands more products than most “free” sites, who often limit suggestions to products from their bank sponsors.
